Acquisition Across Varieties: New Perspectives from Portuguese

The Vienna Portuguese Linguistics workshop series anounces its second edition. This year the workshop focuses on the acquisition of Portuguese and its varieties in different settings. It will be held on 16-17 November 2023. The workshop will feature talks by the following speakers:

•  Susana Correia (Universidade Nova de Lisboa): Perception and Production Training in Non- native/L2 Speech Learning - Evidence from Portuguese
•  Esther Rinke (Universität Frankfurt): Relating Heritage Language Acquisition and Diachronic Change: Clitics, Null objects, and Subject inversion in Portuguese as Heritage Language in Germany
•  Elaine Grolla (USP): A’-Movement in Child Brazilian Portuguese: Non-adult Productions in Spontaneous and Experimental Data
